  • Manual filter cleaning
  • Mobile on lockable castors — rolls to the arc, no ductwork
  • Clean air recirculated indoors — no heat loss in winter

FDYD-13P — Mobile Welding Fume Extractors

The FAON FDYD-13P is a mobile welding fume extractor built for single-station welding, cutting and grinding. Mounted on heavy-duty lockable castors with a push handle, it rolls straight to the job — no ductwork, no installation, no heat loss from extracting air outdoors.

Fume is captured at source through a 360° flexible extraction arm before it reaches the operator’s breathing zone. Air then passes through a multi-stage filter system using PTFE-coated polyester (domestic) media, delivering 0.3 μm filtration accuracy and ≥99.9% efficiency at 0.3 μm.

The 1.1 kW motor runs on 220 V / 50 Hz and moves 1300 m³/h of air, with 9 m² of filter media to spread the dust load and extend service intervals. Cartridge cleaning is manual.

  • Manual-clean units have no compressed-air requirement and a lower purchase cost — ideal for intermittent welding. Pulse-clean models automatically reverse-jet the cartridge, so they run continuously with far less maintenance.

  • Do I need to duct it outside?

No. Once filtered, the air can be returned to the workshop, which avoids losing heated air in winter.

  • The cartridge media is rated for 0.3 μm particles, the fine fraction that carries most welding fume risk. Test reports are available on request.

Need help selecting?

Send us your workshop layout, dust or fume type and airflow target — our engineers will size the right unit, including ductwork and multi-station systems, and return a selection drawing.

  • Can it be used for stainless steel and galvanised welding?

Yes. High-alloy and coated steels produce the most hazardous fume (hexavalent chromium, nickel, zinc oxide), so at-source capture plus 0.3 μm filtration is exactly the right approach.
